line Dating

Do you take dating seriously?

Many Christians do not.  In fact, it seems that most modern Christians regard dating as nothing more than a casual recreational activity; rather than as part of a parentally-supervised process of choosing a suitable spouse.

If more Christians took dating seriously, they would realize that nothing even resembling modern dating can be found in scripture, repent of how often they have given their hearts away before marriage, recommit themselves to maintaining emotional purity, and return to safer means of choosing a spouse (e.g., the courtship or betrothal model).

God calls you to take dating seriously:

For to the women he says, “I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases…” to the men he says, “Flee also youthful lusts…” to both he says, “Keep your heart with all diligence…” and to the fathers he says that he who keeps his virgin “does well.” (Song 8:4, 2 Tim. 2:22, Prov. 4:23, 1 Cor. 7:36-38)
