Do you take history seriously?

Many Christians do not. While all have taken history courses and while most show occasional interest in ancient civilizations and historical events, there seem to be relatively few who have allowed their theology to inform their historiography.

If more Christians did this, they would forsake their pagan views of history (e.g., the cyclical, progressive, idealistic, evolutionary, and dialectical-materialist views) and confess that God alone upholds, directs, disposes, and governs all creatures, actions, events, and things by his most wise and holy providence and in accordance with the immutable counsel of his own sovereign will.

God calls you to take history seriously:

“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me – Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying: My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:9-11)
