line Labor

Do you take labor seriously?

Many professing Christians do not. In fact, I have personally met countless church-goers who not only seem content to be chronically un-employed and under-employed, but who have also settled down into a comfortable life of complete dependence upon state welfare and church charity.

If more Christians took seriously the creation mandate to exercise dominion through diligent labor, they would repent of their entitlement mindset, stop making excuses, forsake slothfulness, find a job, be content with their earned wages, enjoy the fruit of their labor, and honor the Lord with the first fruits of honest increase.

God calls you to take labor seriously:

For here is what I have seen: “It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor — this is the gift of God.” (Ecc. 5:17-19)
