line Magistrates

Do you take magistrates seriously?

Many professing Christians do not. In fact, it has become quite commonplace in our corrupt and incorrigible culture for Christians citizens to disagree with, disrespect, and even disdain those who are in positions of civil authority (i.e., mayors, governors, senators, congressmen, presidents, etc.).

If more Christians did take magistrates seriously, they would not only acknowledge God’s sovereignty over political elections and God’s ordination of civil officers; but they would also obey God’s calling to honor them, pray for them, render to them their due, and obey their every lawful command.

God calls you to take magistrates seriously:

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves… for he is God’s minister…” (Romans 13:1-4)
