line Service

Do you take service seriously?

Many professing Christians do not. In fact, most could probably not imagine pouring water into a basin, getting down on their hands and knees, removing another person’s shoes and socks, washing their feet, and then wiping them dry with a piece of their own clothing.

If more Christians remembered that this is exactly what Jesus did for his disciples, their lives would not be so filled with selfish attitudes and self-serving actions. Rather, and in lowliness of mind, they would esteem others as better than themselves and endeavor to follow in the footsteps of Jesus through self-sacrificial service.

God calls you to take service seriously:

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)  He also said, “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John 13:14)
